Well we have all endeared another week of well above normal temps which are confusing the rock and keeping the whitetail rut suppressed. The water temp this week actually rose 7 degrees to an extremely hot 62 degrees. This has limited the typical fall schooling action to a minimum. There have been some good reports coming from the bay and sound channel of trout and rock mixed together taking jigs like crippled herring and sting silvers. This week we stayed confined to the shallows of Smith and Tangier. The fish seems to be concentrated around structure in less than 10 feet of water. On top of dealing with warming water we also had the clearest water I’ve ever encountered. We were forced to use a small 20# flurocarbon leader and muted assassin colors like salt & pepper and pinfish to lure the weary fish into biting. Thank goodness for the hot fishing because the hot temps aren’t helping to get the deer moving. But maybe on 11/14 -11/15 the MD youth rifle hunt will be jam packed with action. So make sure the buddy stands are set corn piles are out and cameras are ready!

Mr. Dan and son Chris fished on this weeks charter. Even though the water had warmed -up the shallow water action stayed strong.
