THE BIG STORY CONTINUES TO BE THE AWESOME RED DRUM FISHERY IN THE LOWER CHESAPEAKE AND THE POTENTIAL ACTION THAT IS DEVELOPING ON THE SURF OF THE ESVA. THE FISH HAVE BEEN TAKEN ON CUT BAITS FISHED IN 20-30 FEET OF WATER AROUND AND JUST AFTER DUSK. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME COBIA MIXED IN AS WELL. THE OFFSHORE REPORT HAS CONSISTED OF A FEW BIG EYE AND YELLOWFINS ALONG WITH A DECENT AMOUNT OF MAHI AND WHITE MARLIN ACTION. THE NEAR SHORE FLOUNDER FISHING IS STILL GOOD ON THE RAILCARS AND OTHER ARTIFICIAL REEFS. THE CHESAPEAKE IS SHOWING IMPROVEMENTS IN THE SHALLOWS AND ON THE CHANNEL EDGES. IN THE SHALLOWS ROCK ARE BECOMING MORE NUMEROUS AND A FEW SMALL SPECS ARE SHOWING UP. THE CHANNEL EDGES ARE FINALLY YIELDING SOME BETTER HARDHEADS ALONG WITH KINGFISH AND SPOT.
