Finally, The Colbourn Creek ramp on the Big Annemessex River is complete. It has room for two boat launches and includes a floating dock to assist boater at low tide. This comes at a great time with the Chesapeake rock season in full swing. The shallows are still the hot spot as the water has increased in temp from 63 to a balmy 69 degrees this week. We have thrown assassins and suspending twitch baits to entice hungry rock. Most of the the fish have been just sub legal, but we have boated fish to 28″. The surf is still producing some big Reds and kingfish along with a few pompano. Don’t forget Md muzzeloader season starts next week. Stop in and get all your black powder supplies and deer corn to get that big buck next weekend.
Here is a pic of a couple of the suspending twitch baits we have been using. Both the mirrdine and the badonkadonk produce lots of strikes and lots of fun.
Miss Juanita shows that girls can get the job done with a couple of nice shallow water rock.
Sunday’ s charter was a little tougher but Mr. Tom and sons were up to the challenge and made some great memories.
Here is Mr. Alan with a nice rock caught on the Sea Hawk morale trip this week. He ,Mr. Art, and myself took the Sea Hawk skiff and pounded the shallows of Smith Island this past Wednesday. A LOT OF FUN!
We even caught some perch on our assassin lures. Now that fish bite off more than he could chew!
Here is Sammy with on of many little speck in the swallows of the Tangier. If these fish come back and grow up we are going to have a great 2016!
